If replacing the stock lower brake line assembly on 2018+ dual disc Softails, an adapter is NOT needed. Using -3AN fittings, the upper line connects directly to the Magnum lower assembly. Non-stock applications require taking a measurement for upper brake line length and banjo angle to ensure correct fitment (see How to Order) Harley-Davidson motorcycles equipped with ABS (anti-lock brake system) require ABS specific upper and lower brake line kits. Failure to do so may result in compromised anti-lock braking ability. Magnum Shielding upper brake line kits manufactured specifically for these applications are identified with the letters “ ABS ” printed directly on the brake hose. IMPORTANT – HOW TO ORDER: Stock fitments : The stock fitment chart determines the upper, lower and mid-line kits needed for your application. Lower and mid lines are model specific. Stock upper line length and banjo angle is listed for each application to help when choosing alternative length upper lines. Alternative fitments : Due to handlebar changes, fitment options are accommodated with the UPPER line only. See the alternative length chart for available lengths and banjo angles. 2018+ Softail Dual Disc Upper Lines. The upper line connects directly to the Magnum Designer dual disc lower brake line. Measure from the stock lower line manifold to the master cylinder. This will be your line length Upper line length for Trike models is measured using the 49” mid- line as a reference to determine additional line length needed to complete the routing from the ABS controller to the master cylinder. That measurement will be your upper line length. (see diagrams below).
